Zach Bryan reveals he is two months sober – Music News

Zach Bryan has revealed that he is two months sober.

The 29-year-old country singer-songwriter has shared that he is celebrating nearly two months of sobriety, sharing that he quit drinking to protect his mental health.

Bryan opened up on Instagram on Tuesday, explaining that he made the decision after taking a 20-day solo motorcycle trip across the United States.

“At the end of this ride, I was sitting in a parking lot in Seattle, Washington thinking ‘I really need some f**king help,” he wrote.

The Something in the Orange hitmaker reflected on how his years in the military and the rapid rise of his music career left little time for him to take care of himself.

“Being in the military for a decade and then thrown into a spotlight that I hadn’t fully comprehended the scope of, had some subconscious effects on me as a person,” he penned. “I was not content but I also feared showing weakness because that’s not who I am or how I was raised.”

Bryan admitted he had used alcohol to mask his “perpetual discontent”, adding that “there was a consistent black hole in me that always needed its void filled”.

He went on to share how online criticism and being “lied about” had taken a toll on his mental wellbeing, at times triggering “earth-shattering panic attacks”.

“The anxiety I felt was paralyzing and I thought since I was successful, had the money I always longed for, and had great friends, that I could tough anything out,” he shared.

Bryan then revealed he has been working with a therapist and has now been sober for almost two months.

“I haven’t touched alcohol for nearly two months now – something I had to do for my own personal clarity,” he wrote. “I needed to see the world objectively.”

Reflecting on his progress, the country star added, “I feel great. I feel content. I feel whole. There’s nothing I need to get me by anymore.”

The post comes after he engaged in a physical altercation with fellow country singer Gavin Adock. His ex-girlfriend Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia also previously accused him of emotional abuse after their 2024 breakup.
