Young Thug & Mariah The Scientist Are Engaged After Onstage Proposal

Wedding bells are in the air for Young Thug and Mariah The Scientist!

The YSL rapper popped the question to his girlfriend and collaborator while performing at his Hometown Hero benefit concert at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena on Tuesday (December 16).

Footage of the romantic moment showed Thugger pausing his set and getting down on one knee to ask Mariah, who he had just performed with, for her hand in marriage.

“What do you say, man?” he asked as the words “Will You Marry Me?” filled the giant onstage screen behind them. “Put it on!” Mariah replied, motioning her man to put the eye-catching diamond ring on her finger.

She then turned to the crowd and said: “I guess we’re getting married!” — prompting a roar of screams and applause from fans.

Young Thug and Mariah The Scientist began dating in 2021 and have showcased their creative chemistry on multiple collaborations. The soon-to-be-married couple even played bride and groom in the video to “Walked In.”

Mariah admirably stuck by Thug’s side throughout his lengthy YSL RICO trial, which kept him behind bars for over two years.

“It’s almost like jail solidified our relationship. I’m willing to wait it out because I feel like he’s the one,” she told The Breakfast Club in 2023. “In the beginning he was like, ‘I don’t know how long this is going to take so if you just want to go on.’ And I was like, ‘I’m not going to do that.’ He’s the one.”

However, their relationship has been anything but smooth sailing since Thugger was released from jail in October 2024.

The couple appeared to briefly break up last year after the “Hot” hitmaker was heard in a leaked jail call admitting to phoning “at least 10 other girls” while behind bars.

Thug quickly issued a public apology to Mariah, writing on social media: “Sorry to my baby for all this bullshit on the internet. I love u baby and fuck em all we know what’s up with us!”
