A series documenting people at marches, rallies, and Pride gatherings across the United States by Brooklyn-based photographer Stas Ginzburg. Ginzburg is a queer refugee from Russia whose work centres on LGBTQIA+ communities and activism. For the past five years, he has been taking portraits of queer, trans, and gender-nonconforming people. The resulting series contains over one hundred portraits of LGBTQIA+ individuals presented in straightforward yet intentional compositions that embody visibility, defiance, and authenticity. Together, these images form a living archive—a record of a community at the threshold of profound political and cultural shifts. As queer and trans lives face renewed threats of legislative erasure and structural violence, this work holds space as both witness and counter-narrative, preserving a lineage of activism and radical presence within spaces of public dissent.
Stas Ginzburg participated in our 2025 Booooooom Art & Photo Book Award and made our shortlist.
