Karina Vazquez (aka Crisselle) is a Long Beach-based, self-taught artist known for her dreamlike, poetic style and evocative exploration of femininity and personal identity.
She works in mixed techniques, blending digital, traditional, and experimental media to construct soulful images that invite viewers to reflect on themselves while enveloping each subject in enchanted atmospheres. Vazquez cites inspiration from contemporary artists such as Audrey Kawasaki and Esra Roise, with women remaining a central motif in her work as vehicles for both self-representation and solidarity. Elements of heritage appear in her art, but her main focus is personal expression, describing her creative process as “the only way to truly breathe”. Crisselle’s ability to mix detailed linework, fluid forms, and emotional candor has led to features in art magazines and exhibited works that resonate with wide audiences.
