The Blonde Hedgehog hotel Alderney.
Not sure you are allowed to say such things these days?
In this case the two blondes are a spiky cute creature and the other a most delightful boutique hotel on the island of Alderney.
Unique to Alderney the Blonde Hedgehog.
The two come together in St Annes, the capital of Alderney. The third largest island in the Channel Islands that is just 8 miles off the Northern French coast.

Called the ‘Blonde Hedgehog’ this stylish contemporary hotel punches above its size with well crafted and laid out rooms, excellent food and first rate service.
Attentive staff ready, willing and very able too.
Blonde Hedgehog Started Life During Covid
Although the hotel came to life during Covid19. However, it came through the pandemic, a strong contender offering island visitor’s a modern boutique experience on this tiny island of 1,800 people.
Classy and compact footprint on the town’s High Street. With its local and traditional exterior island styling.

However, inside its cosy, colourful interior is bang up to date with quality fixtures and fittings throughout.
Meals are taken in the bright and roomy glazed extension that also opens out to an enclosed sheltered and well stocked rear garden on two levels.
Peaceful stroll on Victoria Street, St Anne, Alderney.
Literally just minutes away from the island’s airfield you can step off your plane and discover your first blonde encounter certainly within five minutes!
Bedrooms offer a real sanctuary. Although the island itself is really one massive sanctuary too.

As with the rest of the hotel, quality is everywhere. Be that in the bedding, beds and the furnishings.
Spacious bathroom with both shower and bath in the room I had. Plus, modern connections on the sockets for phone charging etc.
Director Tracey Farquhar-Beck was on hand and explained in more detail about the concept behind the Blonde Hedgehog.

Talking of the design concept Tracey said, “We wanted it to be home from home. But paired back so you can dress up for dinner with dresses and jacket or be in jeans and a casual shirt to eat for instance.”
She added, “Designer Charlie Shaw made it look great but also made it practical and fit for purpose.”
Always a favourite. Fish and chips. Crunchie batter and crispy chips at the Blonde Hedgehog hotel.
Staffing they are a friendly mixture of local and international staff. All efficiently carrying out their various duties around the property.
Personally I really loved my first visit to Alderney.

Discovering both blondes on the island. The second being equally seductive. A living wild ‘Blonde Hedgehog’ to be found all over the island and even in the capital!
These rare creatures certainly help to make the island famous. And the numerous tropical looking beaches are also a draw too.
Where these mutated blonde versions have gained legendary status in the animal world.
An interesting and well stocked Museum on Alderney.
Being pink nosed and legged along with those iconic white, often softer blonde spines and not versions in brown that most people associate with a hedgehog often seen in the UK or on the continent.
Staying on the island of Alderney both ‘Blonde Hedgehogs’ are both such wonderful encounters and certainly an experience not to be missed.
