My Chemical Romance’s Hidden Tour Message – Did Fans Figure it Out?

Did Fans Decode the Hidden Messages on My Chemical Romance’s Black Parade Tour?

Since My Chemical Romance launched the Long Live the Black Parade tour in July 2025, fans have been working overtime to come up with theories to explain the tour’s macabre aesthetic and imperialist imagery.

The stage spectacle takes place in the fictional world of DRAAG. Each show is in service of a mysterious figure called His Grand Immortal Dictator. Every night, “candidates” are led onstage to take part in an audience-wide election, which ends in a mock execution.

It’s grim stuff — par for the course for My Chemical Romance and enough to reignite some “Satanic panic” commentary near the beginning of the tour. But fans think they might have figured out the significance behind the grisly stage production.

The Black Parade Tour Time Loop Theory

The predominant fan theory regarding the Long Live the Black Parade tour is that My Chemical Romance are stuck in a time loop and forced to commit or participate in heinous acts on a nightly basis.

But the time loop doesn’t always work perfectly: Each 2025 show featured a few subtle differences that might have suggested the band was attempting to break free of this loop and stop serving His Grand Immortal Dictator and the DRAAG propaganda machine.

Other Black Parade Tour Theories: Life Exchanges and ‘Danger Days’ Nods

Other fans noticed that with each passing show, the band members’ makeup appeared to decay more, while His Grand Immortal Dictator’s presence grew. This led to the even more grisly theory that His Grand Immortal Dictator was harvesting the life force of the band members, and the exchange took place through their performance.

Several other visual components of the Long Live the Black Parade tour had fans drawing parallels to My Chemical Romance’s 2010 album Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys, a conceptual record about a group of rebels fighting against an evil corporation in a post-apocalyptic California landscape.
