YouTube rolls out its own version of Spotify Wrapped for videos, revealing highlights, deep dives, and moments from your watch history.

YouTube is introducing a new recap experience for your watch history, designed to “uniquely highlight interests, deep dives, and moments” like Spotify’s end-of-year Wrapped experience, but for YouTube video. According to YouTube’s announcement, the feature includes up to 12 cards that spotlight the top channels, interests, and changes in your viewing taste.

Taking another page out of the Spotify Wrapped book—from which other services like Apple Music and Amazon Music have copied their homework in recent years—YouTube’s Recap will even assign users a “personality type” based on viewing habits. These include types like Adventurer, Skill Builder, and Creative Spirit, which seem pretty similar to Spotify’s personality types.

The feature is launching for YouTube users in the U.S. today and will roll out globally throughout the week. YouTube Recap will be available on both mobile devices and desktop, and can be found by selecting the dedicated button on the YouTube homepage, or under the “You” tab in the user menu.

“YouTube Recap uniquely highlights interests, deep dives, and moments you explored this year, based on your watch history,” reads YouTube’s blog post. “You’ll get a set of up to 12 different cards that spotlight your top channels, interests, and even the evolution of your viewing habits, or which personality type you fall into based on the videos you loved to watch.”

Notably, some stats related to music videos and listening to music, such as top artists and songs, will be included in the recap—but it’s not meant to replace the existing Recap experience for YouTube Music. That feature provides an annual review of your top artists, songs, genres, and podcasts. YouTube Music will still provide a “separate YouTube Music Recap” within the app, according to YouTube.

YouTube also shared some trends revealing what topics, creators, podcasts, and songs have been the most popular in the United States this year. A lot of these are pretty obvious, such as MrBeast remaining the top creator, and “The Joe Rogan Experience” maintaining the top spot in the podcast category. Meanwhile, the Kpop Demon Hunters soundtrack dominated the general top songs chart, but was noticeably less popular in Shorts.
