Melanie C signs with Virgin Music Group – Music News

Melanie Chisholm has signed a new deal with Virgin Music Group.

The 51-year-old Spice Girls star and her independent record label Red Girl Records have partnered with Virgin ahead of the release of her new single Sweat.

She said in a statement: “I’m thrilled to be releasing my new music with Virgin Music Group. It feels like a homecoming after the successes we shared working together with Spice Girls and my first two solo albums. They are paving the way for more artist-led deals and have an incredibly strong international team. I’m really excited to see what we can achieve together.”

Vanessa Bosaen, President of Virgin Music Group UK , added: “Melanie is such a unique force of nature who is on the verge of another exciting chapter in an illustrious career. She captivates the heart of everyone she meets and we are thrilled to welcome her into the Virgin Music Group family. We look forward to working alongside her and her team to bring her intoxicating vision to life.”

Melanie will release her ninth studio album, also titled Sweat, in 2026.

Meanwhile, it was recently revealed that the Spice Girls are set to reunite for a new animated project on the band.

Titled The Spice Girls, it will mark the group’s first full professional collaboration since their performance at the 2012 Olympic Games closing ceremony.

According to the official IMDb listing, The Spice Girls is currently in pre-production and will feature all five original members including Victoria Beckham, Geri Halliwell, Melanie Brown, Melanie C and Emma Bunton as voice actors.

The description reads: “An animated project featuring the music group The Spice Girls as super heroes.”

Details of the plot, format, and release date remain under wraps, with IMDb stating only that the project will see the members reprise their pop star alter egos, including Posh, Ginger, Scary, Sporty, and Baby Spice.
